stuff with faroudja technology

i was wondering if the video equipment that implements the emmy-award winning faroudja technology (i know some DVD players use it) is any good. just curious cuz my dad works for genesis microchip and they own the patent to the faroudja technology and it's like a 3-time emmy-winning thing blah blah. anyone with experience?

A lot of manufacturers are banking on the quality of the Faroudja chips...so it may take off. I personally havent bit yet, but then again I havent bought anything new in a while.

I would have to say that from experience, the more manufacturers that start adding it as an option, the more it will become a standard. If not too many bite then it will probably die.
