I want to get my sister a 27" TV for christmas, and i saw in Best Buy's ad today the Advent 27" Pure Flat Stereo TV. I have never heard of this company before...but according to their site they have been around since 1967.

Could anyone give me any info on the quality of their TVs in general or on this specific model if possible. I wasnt able to find any reviews on this TV and before I buy it I would like to get an idea on how it compares with other TVs in its class.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have never heard of Advent tv's but Advent has been a speaker manufacturer for many many years. In fact, we have a couple of sets of Advents sitting around right now. I have two sets of big monitors, one of which is still in use after 20 years the other of which is in a closet. We also have 4 advent indoor/outdoor speakers in use around the pool...as well as a set of omnidirectional advent rears, these are from back in the day when Dolby Prologic 1 was as high as you could go.

So, in terms of speakers, they arent top of the line, but are a known name. For TV's....never heard anything about them.
