audio cable questions
so i will be setting up m xbox in a few weeks (when i get it for christmas) to my reciever.
I currently have 1 digital RCA cable from monster that came free with my reciever. The thing cost $50 at the time, so i assume it provides a decent signal. I also have an optical cable connecting my DVD changer to the reciever. The monster cable is jsut collecting dust as we speak. will there be a noticable difference in sound if i connect the changer with the monster digital coaxial and then use the optical cable for the xbox, or should i bite the bullet and go buy another optical cable?

There should be no difference. Here's where we've talked about it before tho:

thanks.
i was unsure since more noise can be created over an all metal connection while optical will not have this noise carried over to the second component. the noise in a wire can actually cause a 1 to be a 0 and vice versa, but any good setup should account for this. i never thought to look it up since i didnt assume taht any previous discussions would talk about it |
