You would benefit with a 480p picture with a progressive TV.

yes, the number 480 is lines of resolution. The difference is HOW the 480 lines are projected onto the screen.

...basically a clearer picture?

Thanks!!
I just installed a Philips DVD player for a friend which has progressive scan. It has a button for progressive scan. Well, I wasn't sure if it was on progressive scan or not. I pressed the button and a double image side by side showed up on the screen. I think it was a still frame at the beginning of the movie.
Any idea which is progressive and which one is not?

You will need an HD (or HDready) TV to take advantage of progressive scan.

HERE is a pretty good explanation.

Good stuff! I feel like when I was learning to oc my computer.
All these neat things that I would have no idea about if it weren't shown to me. Too bad this cost 10x's+ what it cost to build a computer.

I'll know I have become rich when I can compare audio/video notes with the apex.
