question about DTS ES 6.1 Discrete
I've got this one DVD that says it has tracks in:
1. DTS ES 6.1 Discrete 2. Dolby Digital 5.1 I've got the Denon AVR-1801 receiver which supports DTS 5.1 and DD 5.1. If I have my receiver settings to "DTS" and choose the DTS ES 6.1 track on the DVD audio settings, will I be hearing incomplete audio information? Should I just choose the DD 5.1 track?? |

you should set it to 5.1. if i remember correctly 6.1 has a rear center channel and if you set it to 6.1 you wont hear that channel. on the 5.1 track it will be mixed in with the rear surrounds.

Your receiver will play the DTS track as 5.1 since you dont have the center rear..so go ahead and enjoy your DTS.

Definitely use the DTS track. It's backwards compatible with your 5.1 setup and will sound great.

So I won't be losing the 1.0 channel(6.1-5.1)?? Cool!
