What equipment to buy for karaoke
First of all, this is not for me. My parents want it and they're planning to spend about $1,000. Not too shabby but definitely HF.
I know that I have to get speakers and an amp, dvd player, but after that, I don't know what to do. Can you recommend me some equipments in my range, thanks. |

Try http://www.prosing.com
Will this be for in-home or professional? If you are not carting the system around, you can get away with speakers which don't have to be so durable. The size of the room will depend on the size of the speakers. Make sure you get a player that has microphone inputs and echo. I can not emphasize echo enough. If you sound flat, you will get discouraged and never want to sing again. Or get an auxiliary echo piece of equipment. Also a machine that has key changes is a necessity. There are certain songs that you may like but you may not be able to reach a certain note. By starting out an octave or two lower, you will be able to sing them without a lot of effort. Also buy the best wireless mike you can afford. Crummy mikes can really detract from the end result. You may be able to get by without a mixer. For CDG's go to EBAY and type in karaoke sets. You will find some excellent deals there. DO NOT pay retail for discs!By buying in sets, they are dramatically cheaper. Try to stick to Sound Choice, Top Hits, DK , Dangerous, and a few other CDG brands. Avoid Sweet Georgia Brown, Music Maestro, Nu-Tech and some others which I can't recall right now. |
