that is an affirmative. cnet articles about the gateway monitors confirm that they're 720 rez. not the full 1080, so it's not gonna be the best resolution. |

Just a thought, they have this at Costco.
It did place for Best Home Theater at CES 2002. I have a few problems with it, and other reviewers did too. A friend of mine bought one middle of last year. The first time he showed it off to us, I could hear a faint humming noise. After awhile others could hear it too. Over a couple of months it is more obvious. He has since replaced it with another one, and it buzzes, but not as loud. A little Googling, and I found a couple of reviews saying that this is common in it. One thing I really didn't like is that the set is really bright. Turning down the brightness doesn't help. There is still an oversaturation of white to the picture. The result is black is more gray, and other viewers have complained about creeping moss. You will definitely want to calibrate it. IMHO, its not worth it. The buzzing alone would drive me nuts. The oversaturation ruins it for me. Oh, one thing I picked up doing research on this is that the HDTV compatible part means that it downsamples to 480p. It does not display true HDTV, if that reallly matters to you. Anywho... |

Basically the same, except the Gateway version comes with the tuner card ($299 option on the Sampo).
