Hey everyone! Sorry my first post has to be a question for ya'll, but i'm desperate to find a solution to my problem. I'm trying to play DVDs with full surround sound on my computer, but i cannot hear the distance channels and think the rear surrounds are just playing what would be the front stereo channels.
My setup. Win DVD OR Activision playback SB Live 5.1 with digital Altec Lansing 641 (4.1) (uses two minijacks--one for the front and one for the back. no digital input and no LFE) So my questions are: is it possible to playback DVDs with surround sound with my setup? what audio mode should i set the DVD to play? any scenes of specific movies that i should play to test 4 distinct channels? Also, one might take note that I do not have a 4 pin audio cable hooked up from my DVD player to anything. Reason being, i have no idea what is does nor where it should go. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. JohnDude |
