wow! my HT system rocks.
i installed my HT system last june, but usually whenever i use it, i keep it majorly toned down (sub off or turned way down, volume on the other speakers keep to a minimal level) out of courtesy for my neighbors (i live in an apartment, and i know the sound travels pretty well between the floors). anyway, i just got the matrix as part of the last columbia house deal a couple weeks ago. so when i sat down to watch it yesterday afternoon, i decided it was time to cut loose. i turned the volume up to 45 (it maxes out at 75, and i usually have it at ~30). i turned the sub to less than 1/4 of total volume. but damn.....did it ever rock. the sub was making the floor rumble -- i can't imagine what it would do turned up higher. the speakers were loud, powerful, and clear. the surround sound effects were pefect. oh yeah, and of course the movie rocked. ![]() btw, my setup: Onkyo TX-DS595 receiver Panasonic RP56 DVD JBL NSP-1 Northridge speakers JBL PSW-D112 sub (12", 250 watts) AR-Pro cables |
