Customs release is finally done. The trucker will either deliver the stuffs tomorrow or monday. I was told that this is a hot shipping season ! All ocean freight charges went up 10%.

The customs clearance was done late yesterday, and the trucker got all docs this morning but cannot deliver today due to the heavy work load at the moment. Therefore, I'm expecting them coming in on Monday.

Sounds good. Will you be sending out individual e-mails when you ship out gear? Does Bax have tracking? If so, can you include tracking numbers?

BradJudy, I won't be able to use bax since they don't pick up at residential and charge $25 for residential delivery too. I'll use Airborne ground, and the tracking info should be automatically sent to your e-mail via airborne. Hopefully, the originally quoted shipping costs still hold

Finally, everything (speakers) arrived ! It took me and the driver more than an hour to unload and put all stuffs in the garage. Shipping is to be arranged for tomorrow.

Okay, cannot wait to open my L2D in poplar. Cosmetically, this new (SE) export version is about perfection ! a step up from the frist GP L2D, even though those are excellent too. It turns out that all the patterns are even matched on poplar finish ! Do not know how they could do this.

Of course, sound is a step up too. Last time, when compared with Dynauiod Contour 1.3SE, the L2D was less bass and not as detail in the mid-range. Now, we definitely need a revisit Be the judge once receive yours. I'm overwhelmed.

Cheers, Lei

Cool! I was secretly hoping they would try to match the patterns although you specifically stated that being a potential problem. Awesome! Can't wait to get these speakers!

I've been pawning off all my old gear to make room for this new stuff (and to keep the family peace ).

Cheers,

Cool L2D for sale

Due to the impending arrival MGs and unforseen financial issues I will have to sell L2D with stands in Rosewood finish that I got with first group buy. Anyone interested please contact me. Otherwise after I will get MGs next weekend from Lei I will put them up on Audiogon.

Regards,

P.S. Dear audiophiles

I'm not selling MGs - only L2Ds are for sale that I got earlier. I was planning on keeping both but looks like I am not going to be able to afford that. So I'm keeping MG only

Cheers

P.S.
These are L2D from first GP so they have AC-130F35 woofer and not AC-130MKII. I haven't heard upgraded model so I don't know what is the difference.

Regards

New & Improved L2D???

Lei,
Is it true that the new L2D speaker from the latest group buy have a new & improved woofer? I saw this info somewhere but can't recall so I appreciate if you can confirm this.

Thanks,
F-100

F-100, Yes, the new version uses a different woofer. However, both of them are equally high quality and high cost-effectiveness. I think it's a good opportunity to talk with Peter if you like the Rosewood finish.

L2D for how much? are these L2Ds model MKII, or just L2D?
Thanks

The L2Ds are beautiful and sound great so far (only one hour into listening). The finish is in the league of the Onix Ref series and they look great. Too bad my stands were damaged in shipping (a piece of foam came loose and they banged against each other). Luckily the marks are mostly hidden, but I'll have to glue a piece back on and get some touch-up paint. Once I have more time I'll post some comparison thoughts.

Yes, the packaging of the stands this time is different from the first GP. The advantage is that no assemling is required, and the disadvantages are higher shipping costs and tendency of damage.

Yup, join the club. Same thing happened with my stands. Now I just need to find some good touch-up paint. My GF suggested using her black high-gloss nail polish and that may actually work really well

Here is one. Maybe not high enough resolution, but you can always repeat them

FYI.

Aurum Cantus just introduced several new models that seem to be promising. The MG II uses a new "sandwich" 8" woofer of better rigidity, which also helps reduce the width of the front baffle. The Moon Goddess II uses the same woofer but side mounted, which helps further reduce the front baffle width. For more info, go to the attached link and click on "loudspeaker":

Anybody's getting shengya's CD-S6 and SAV-C1/SAV-P200 in this group buy, or anybody can comment on these products? I'm interested in GROUP BUY 3 too.
Thanks,

Chuckle...

Yeah, I'd be interested in another group buy if the reviews on SAV-C1/SAV-P200 are decent.

I love the way the Aurum Cantus website lists poplar burl wood as "tumor wood"
Perhaps I should bring my speakers to chemotherapy before it's too late?

Cheers,

I don't know if the rest of you have seen the Shengya speakers, but they are fabulous looking at least, and if priced low, may also be a good deal like their electronics. Take a look. I like the Classic #3.

Please let's do another GP Lei. Pretty please?!

I can't tell how the MGII is better than the MG... well, at least I have to tell myself that to avoid buying more speakers.

What would be cool is if fright shipping overseas could be tracked in a similar fashion as UPS. It'll be like, "Ooohh, the fright is currently 2000 miles away from the docks in NY~"

One day eventually... one day.

What's the best solvent/cloth to wipe down on the speakers? Can I just use pinesol + paper towel?

Don't use too strong solvent and paper towel. I'm using some normal glass cleaner with a velvet material. Also, no vacuum cleaning over the tweeter area !

Here is a new AV receiver from ShengYa. 150Wx2 stereo, 120Wx6 all channel. Have almost all of existing decodings. Don't ask, no price out yet
