Internet video sharing with ReplayTV
I have not been able to find a definitive solution for sharing shows with a ReplayTV. I have registered at my.replaytv.com and use the service, but I cannot figure out how to request shows that I wish to be sent. From what I have read, I should be able to find a show on myreplaytv and request that it be sent to me, but I see nothing of the sort on the site.
Is there another program or website that allows sharing? Am I missing something? Is anyone involved in the sharing scene? Is it possible to request shows from premium channels (i.e. HBO - I really want to see Carnivale) that I do not subscribe to?

Myreplaytv.com is for remote scheduling for the most part. For IVS to work you must be connected via broadband and have opened up ports on your router to be able to send an receive shows. It is pretty easy.
Check out: http://planetreplay.com/phpBB2/index...0656150115c755 for help with some config areas and you will also be able to request a test clip sent to your replay. To actually find people to send it to you, the groups is below, and a standard form that posts to the yahoo group can be found below http://groups.yahoo.com/group/replaytvsharing http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~streger/www/rtvrequest.htm |

Yes, I am aware of planetreplay and the forums there.
However, in my account at planetreplay, under "Manage your shows", there is a section for "Shows you want" and "Shows you have shared". The shows that I have stored on my replaytv unit appear in the "Shows you have shared" section and I'm assuming that planetreplay pulls that data from myreplaytv. So how do I add shows to the "Shows you want" section? That is the main question I am having. Like I said before, it seems like I should be able to request shows on myreplaytv to be sent to me. |
