EDTV LCD and DVD playback
Hey guys,
I have a ? My dad wants to buy this LCD TV: a 20" 4:3 EDTV by panasonic for thier motorhome and kitchen. They mostly view 4:3 content and sometimes watch DVD. My question is: How do DVD's look on a TV that is natively 640x480p since they cant display all of the info? Any other input is appreciated. Last edited by nomoney : 08-31-2004 at 06:09 PM. |

The 1300 is retail. We dont pay that
but it will still be expensive. LCD TV's are expensive right now, thats just the way it is.The problem with a "huge widescreen TV" is that it doesnt fit well on the kitchen counter. And I just found out that the Sampo only does 480i through its component (no i dont mean composite) in. Thats ridiculous. To get the higher res you need to go through the 15 pin in from a PC so I think htat one is out too. My main question is "how do widescreen DVD's look on a 480p 4:3 TV?" |

The $724.53 for the Sharp LCD20B4US from today's deals is far better for the cash.

After considering, I probably end up with a HDTV ready projection TV instead of plasma or LCD TV because of the price.

It all depends on your installation needs. If you need a small TV for under the counter in your kitchen, a RPTV will obviously not work. If you have a big living room, with a nook for a RPTV, you wouldn't want a LCD. There is no 1 right solution for every situation.
