Sizzling: Energy Veritas 2.1 speakers for $499.95/pr shipped.

Okay, now I know this should go in the Got Deals? section, but I don't know how many of you Home Theater Equipment forum visitors read that section. Anyways, the Energy Veritas 2.1 speakers are on sale at AudioAdvisor.com for $499.95 a pair shipped using the coupon code: FREESHIPPING You can choose from Gloss Black or the Cherry Veneer. They are made in Canada and originally priced for $1000.00 per pair and are still sold at specialty audio stores at that price. Here in Austin, Texas, Audio By Design still carries it for that price. So for 50% off it's a hell of a deal with no shipping charges or tax (except in MI).

From the manufacturer:
For music lovers looking to upgrade the performance of your system without drastic investment, the Energy Veritas V2.1 bookshelf speaker system is just for you. Energy Veritas V2.1 is attractively designed, compact and versatile for big sound in a small room. Think of it as your speakers, or the perfect compliment to your weekend getaway residence. Visit your nearby authorized Energy retailer and experience an upgrade in performance with Energy Veritas V2.1.

Here's the manufacturer's link.

Here's are user reviews at AudioReview.com.
Epinion Reviews

I originally got the Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 Deluxe from the 2nd group buy and I can say that I am more satisfied with this speaker out of the box than the L2D's broken-in (which I still have and have been positioned as my surround speakers). The Veritas 2.1 are a little larger than the L2D's in size if anybody is wondering. If you have a retailer in your area, run and listen to the speakers and jump on this deal before it's gone.

Unless they are an authorized Energy dealer, there will be no warranty. I dont know of any online authorized dealers for Energy.

If you enter in their zipcode they DO NOT COME UP...which means they are NOT an authorized dealer. BUY THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK
I used to sell the heck out of these speakers and saw a couple of speakers that were bad right from the factory. Both on the 2.1 and the 2.3 speakers.

Guaranteed Products
Audio Advisor is an authorized dealer for all of the products we sell. All of these products are new, factory fresh, and are backed by the manufacturer's factory warranty, in addition to our exclusive 30-day money back guarantee. The factory warranties are serviceable anywhere in the US and in most foreign countries. Exceptions to this are used products and some demo items. These exceptions are very rare and will be clearly noted in the product description.

You can call Audio Advisor at 1-800-942-0220 to verify with them. They state they are an authorized dealer.

Why dont you check the Energy website...which I did. You do a search via their zipcode (which is listed in company information)..they didnt come up. Hence why I said that I didnt think they were an authorized dealer. Of course they are going to claim to be an authorized dealer...but would you believe the schiester trying to get you to buy his wares?

I called their 1-800 number and spoke with Tom. He claims that they are given the speakers by someone at another company who are authorized dealers, but they only have limited distribution rights. He thought that they would be listed on the website. When I told him that they were not, I was told that I should call Energy because they should know about them being authorized. If not I should call him back. Nonetheless he told me that they would personally stand behind the products. At this moment Energy has received an email from me inquiring into the matter.

Tom further stated that I would have Audio Advisors 100% guarantee. Once I hear back from Energy we will have the definitive truth.

This was the response I got from Audio Advisor:

Daniel:
We are an authorized dealer for the Veritas 2.1 We are not a full line dealer. We bought these from Energy as a "special purchase", but are authorized by them to sell this model.

Here is the respone from Energy:

Hi

They are indeed authorized. But due to the fact they only buy occasional inventory, and mostly clear outs, I can't have them on the dealer locator all the time. Rest assured any purchases made through Audio Advisor will carry our full warranty and support.

Best Regards

This is definitely a good buy. Those Energy are very good speakers. I heard them, I heard some other larger speakers from Energy. API is the same great company which makes Athena, Mirage, Phase and other good speakers and drivers.
The Veritas have a wide very focused soundstage, punchy bass and good off-axis response. I just want to say that everyone has his own preferences and taste for music. For me and the kind of music I listen, Energy speakers sound a little bit too bright. I think they emphasize the details in music which don't need to be emphasized. May be because of their aluminum drivers...I don't know. They sound bright for me and that's it.
Many people like brighter sound, especially for rock and electronic music. I agree - brighter speakers and electronics are better suited for rock. Not every speaker is good for every kind of music. Some speakers are good for rock and some for small acoustic groups.
So... Get the ones you like.
