Planar XP20SSA 20 inch LCD - Quality

Question? Has anyone actually seen a Planar XP20SSA in action? I can't seem to find a review anywhere on one.

Also, anyone know of good sites to get a cantilevering wall mount for an LCD TV.

I went to the local Tweeters store about an hour ago. They didn't have any in stock. I still may cancel my order since it does not have a DVI input plus other issues.

The salesman was shocked at the low price I paid for it.
He wasn't too familiar with the unit, but stated that he wasn't that impressed with Planar LCDs. He wanted to sell me a Sony unit for $1100. So he definitely had a reason to put down the Planar.

Anyway, I told him that the resolution is 640 by 480 with a 500:1 contrast ratio. He stated that all of the LCD TVs have that resolution . He said that 500:1 is no big deal. I thought that was a fairly acceptable ratio

I looked at all of the LCD TVs there. There were different brands and they all looked pretty good regardless of contrast ratio.

I am still uncertain what to do. I have another day to decide whether to accept the order or not.

I couldn't find a review either.

Also, if I use a graphics card with TV out from my computer, will I need another monitor hooked up at the same time or can I use it as a stand alone unit?

Just got the TV last friday and it looks pretty good! (comparable to the 20" Sharp)

Have a question though. I tried to play my dvd in progressive mode and the picture went haywire. I thought fixed displays would all support progressive through component inputs?

Update

I ordered the LCD and it came the day before Christmas.
Since I was in the middle of the flu, I didn't hook it up until that Sunday.

Well, I wasn't very impressed with the picture quality with Cable TV. It was somewhat better with a DVD player.
I was really regretting my decision to buy this unit.

Guess what? THere was a bad pixel near the middle of the screen which really showed up when black or gray images appeared,
It was very distracting. So I called Tweeter's customer service. I repackaged the unit and UPS picked it up yesterday. They are refunding my money, since they don't have any more.

No more LCD TVs for me. If I get one, it will be a computer monitor. From what I have seen, 1024 X 780 is probably the ideal resolution on the larger LCDs.
