I'm confused.
I have been searching for a new center channel to mate with an all Kef inwall installation. I was at first set on the Axiom VP100 but after reading reviews on forums I was also considering the VP150. Then I saw the AV123 sale on the deal page. I hate you. The deal on the RSC100 is sick and looks great in Macassar Ebony! After reading some more on the Rockets I've seen that I also have another option of the ELT-1 center. Has anyone heard this equipment? Any thoughts on the sound of these speakers? Bang for buck? The system is being pushed by a HK 525 Last edited by vdaddy : 12-16-2003 at 10:31 AM. |

The key to good HT surround is to have all of the front speakers to be timbre matched- that is that they produce the exact same sound quality preferably with all the same drivers, etc. Having the best center speaker in the world will not be beneficial if the sound it produces does not blend with your other front speakers. If someone walks across the soundstage it will be obvious and distracting if the sound changes as they pass from the left speaker to the center to the right. Your mind cannot adequately remember sound, so you will have to be able to test any center channel with the speakers you have. See if you can find a place that will let you borrow and/or return the speaker so you can try it. Check with the manufacturer to see if they have a compatible speaker. Even different lines by the same company may sound different.
