Dad wants a new TV: plasma or projector?
My dad was looking for a new video solution for the living room. He originally started looking at 42" HD Plasma TV's, but those have been running at $4000+ for genuine ED and HD.
I told him how Apex had a nice screen and projector, and he wanted to know more about projectors. For $4000 or less, can you throw together a nice TV-watching setup with a projector and screen? (mostly TV, some movies) Any information or advice is always appreciated... this is my first post in Home Theatre ![]()

A projector performs best in a completely dark room, though, so make sure that you can arrange for black-out curtains or some other way of keeping light out of the room.
You can get a good projector for ~$2500, so there would be enough left in the budget for a decent-sized screen.

BTW, there are no real HD plasmas under 50".
