Looking for special front projector
I am looking for a front projector that is able to project at an angle and has a correction so that the picture still looks square. I'm sure there's a name for that, but I don't know it. I would like it to be of the less expensive order instead of the money sucking order. If anyone has any thoughts I wold appreciate it.

Budget?
And are you projecting from off center height wise or side to side?

I had a home theater company come over and they told me I needed a $25000.00 Runco projector to make it work. I'm off centering the projector sideways(not keystone correction- or maybe it is horizontal keystone correction). Like this: << <<<<<< <<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<<<< <<<<<< << Make Sense? I wish I knew the technical name for it, but I don't . My motto for the budget is "pay less- Get More" Any suggestions? Last edited by wmdubois : 01-27-2004 at 09:19 AM. |

There are 2 ways to shift the image. Lens shift and digital keystoning. Lens shift is the optimal way to do it because there's no loss in quality (or at least very very small). There is loss in quality with digital keystoning.
The $25k Runco has side to side lens shift, which is optimal. This being said, the $2500 Sony VPL-HS20 has side to side digital keystoning (called side shot by them). The $1500 VPL-HS2 has it as well, but the projector isn't as nice (lower resolution, brightness, contrast, etc). VPL-HS20 Specs VPL-HS2 Specs |
