Projector Screen Material
Matte White, High Gain, Glass Beaded?
I will be using my BenQ 6100 projector in a room with a large window, but with the blinds closed. I won't be watching much during the day, and I can turn the lights off in the adjoining area. The projector will be ceiling mount, and the manual pull down screen will be directly in front of the large window. I am looking at the Da-Lite Model B series. I still can't figure why some of the screens cost over $1000.

DaLite materials, from best on down, for your application, IMHO:
1. Dalite High Contrast Matte White 2. Dalite High Contrast Cinema Vision 3. Dalite High Power 4. Dalite Cinema Vision 5. Dalite High Contrast DaMat

I mounted my screen this morning in front of my large window. It's a manual pull down DaLite 84" wide which was approx. $150. I was concerned that light could be seen through the material. Not only does it help to darken the room during the day, no light can be seen through it.
The picture quality is AMAZING, even during the day. I can't wait to see if it improves at night. Regardless, for a total $900 outlay, I don't think there is anything close which compares to this package. |
