Home Theater buying help

Hi all,

I am working on getting a cd/dvd player/receiver, and speakers for my parents for X-mas. I want to spend around 250-300. I could use some suggestions. My parents only need maybe a pair of small satellite spekaers and a sub. Any ideas? I'll probably check Costco and a few other places. Any suggestions would be great.

Fry's has the Panasonic 5.1 system (receiver & speakers) and a DVD recorder for $349 after MIR. It's the second item from the top left.
