DVDs with "sleep" mode?

Does anyone know of a DVD player that has a sleep timer like most TVs do? I like to pop in a Simpsons or Family Guy DVD to watch as I'm going to bed, and rather than leaving the player running all night, I'd like to be able to get one that can shut itself off at a certain point.

Any suggestions?

I don't know about sleep mode but my DVD player shut itself off after a period of time of non-activity.

So if you just leave a DVD playing for 2 hours, it'll shut off?

My Denon will do that too, but you have to be careful with DVDs because at the end of a movie they often go to the main menu and that loops so it could run for hours thinking the program was still running. Just keep the remote handy to shut it off. CDs don't do that so it will shut off several minutes after a CD is over.

Well, the reason I'm looking for a sleep timer is because I play them as I'm falling asleep. So unless I can learn to master the remote in my sleep...

I didn't try that yet but after I stop the DVD player for a while, it will shut itself off.

as stupid as this will sound, you could hook it up to a light timer(like the kind for christmas lights). set it to turn itself off at 2am or whenever you SHOULD be sleeping, it can turn itself on in the morning. Just a thought.

I was just going to say the same thing!

Also if you happen to have a TV or Amp with a switched outlet on it AND a sleep mode you might be able to plug the DVD player into it and use it's sleep mode to pull the power from the DVD player after a certain amount of time.

Edited: Just did a google search for "dvd player" sleep mode and this was the first one I found, but for the price (over $600) I think I would pass.

I thought about this as well. It would just be easier if the DVD player had a built-in sleep mode.
