Another HDTV Question

OK, I think I've decided against a projector, to much trouble running cables, controlling light, etc. I'm looking into projection big screens. I was thinking about the Panasonic PT-60LC14 60" LCD Projection TV. It can be had for 2470 shipped online, which seems like a good value.

So do you guys think this is a good TV for the money? Are there better deals out there?

Are the LCD projection TV's pretty much the same as the DLPs in terms of quality? I went to Bestbuy to check things out, and I really couldn't tell any difference.

LCD projections are slightly better than DLP, meeting DLP on most specs and exceeding them on color. But there are a couple of people on this board that have DLP's and will defend them to the death

I think that price is right -- we bought a 55" LCD projection for $2700 at Best Buy, but LCD or DLP, 60" for that price seems great.

Find somewhere you can look at one. If you like the picture, then go for it! Try different sources if you can. Standard broadcasts or regular cable sometimes look real bad on HDTV sets while the HD is stunning.

Thanks for the input folks. I'm probably going to see it at CC tomorrow. I might print out the online price and see if they will price match it.

This TV would have no problem with burn in, correct?

You really think so? In all my viewing and ultimately purchasing, I thought it to be just the opposite. I guess everybodies eyes tell them something different. IMO, LCD's are better for SD broadcasts while DLP's are considerably superior in HD viewing. But alas, to each his/her own...
