I FINALLY decided on speakers. What do you think?

please please please like them. i don't want to have to change my order.

jk. i listened to them, or the step down from them and was wow'ed.

Klipsch RB-35 Fronts

Klipsch RC-35 Center

Klipsch RS-35 Surrounds (and rear center)

HSU STF-3

i decided on the HSU sub instead of the klipsch sub based on reading a lot of reviews. i've been waiting on a "B" stock. for a week or so. they said they usually become available after 2-9 weeks.

so....what do you think? what type of stands should i get for the fronts?

i paid $1300 for the 6 Klipsch speakers including shipping and insurance. good deal?

If this is an area where your kids may get into, you will need something very solid so they cannot knock them over. Sanus makes my stands. I don't have to worry about kids. This thread from the Polk Audio forum takes a look at the question and offers some suggestions. http://clubpolk.polkaudio.com/forum/...ghlight=stands As far as height, it is preferable to have the tweeters at ear level for most listening.

Your speakers should be great. They are all matched so your surround sound will be well balanced when you get them all set up. I know you have labored a lot on this decision, but it sounds like the right one for you.

nice sub! I personally think klipsh sounds real good, but I know a lot of people who don't like horns. What kind of receiver or preamp or amps do you have?

you'd better invest in some good windows too, because that klipsh is going to send some shock through your house

They chose the name not because it means anything, but the way it sounds. It is supposed to imply that their speakers are clean sounding.

this is the part of the basement it's all going in. it's probably 12 feet from the post to the wall and maybe 20 feet wide. i wired the rear surround speaker to be at the far ends of the beam on shelves. should they be closer to where we are sitting? the rear center is obviously right in back of where the couch will be. btw, the ceiling is 7ish" if that helps any.

also, i'm further along than this picture. i'm almost done sanding and tearing the old carpet and pad up. we'll probably have it primed and ready to paint in a week.

ok. i need to buy speaker stand and know that they need to be at ear level. does that mean the center of the speaker needs to be at ear level? so then i would need to sit on the couch we'll be using and then measure how high my ears are...and get a stand that equals that height when added to 1/2 the speaker height?

i like these because i can add sand to them and make them harder for the boyz to know over.

plus, they're not terribly expensive.

i got these last night. it took my son a whole 4 minutes to **** them up! i was sitting outside putting them together and he walk up and bounced his basketball off the vertical sections, knocking them onto the concrete sidewalk, putting scratches in them. i took a permanent marker and touched them up but...sigh.

kids, you gotta love them. cuz you can't kill them. i asked him, "what happened????" he said, "ummm, i don't know. something came down (pointing at the sky) and hit them."

me "like a bird?"

him "yeah. a bird"

me "was it a plane? maybe a spaceship?"

him "yeah. it was a plane"

me "don't lie to me austin. you know you did it."

him "yeah. i'm sorry. i was trying to make the basketball go down in it."

me "sigh. don't worry about it."
