lcd tv

i heard for plasma TVs that it is not good to lay them on its side because it could damage something, does anyone know if that applies for LCD tvs as well?

I think what you hear depends on who you talk to. When I bought my Panasonic plasma, the sales-dork about had a panic attack when I even thought about laying down on it's back in the truck.

Bought a Westinghouse 32" at Best Buy right before black Friday ($820 w/10% on-line coupon and no rebates.. could not pass it up) They just tossed it on the truck flat and said have a nice day.

I think the issue is having a piece of glass that size laying down and what might happen if you hit a bump or something. You would cry if it broke on the way home. Flexing may not be good for other parts of the screen as well. A 32 inch TV is probably not a problem. LCDs are lighter and supposed to be less fragile, but I would still be careful with anything over 40 inches.
