stereo reciever

Here’s my problem.

My old ass receiver, a realistic, was and still is a wonderful piece of equipment, but she’s old, little things wrong, and its time for me to look at upgrading.

I didn't buy this receiver myself, I inherited it when dad got a new one (10 years ago) and we've had it for as long as I can remember. I don't need a home theatre receiver; I’ve already got my surround sound system. I need a receiver I can hook up at least 4 speakers too, and I dunno WTF kinda specs I’m looking for.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

What model Realistic do you have? Some of them are very much sought after today. It's so ironic that Realistic was looked down upon back then, yet years later people have come to realize that a lot of those Realistics were some seriously good stuff.

True story, I bought a new Pioneer receiver back in '76/77. I upgraded to a Realistic in 1980. Sounded much better - worlds cleaner.. and mind you, the Pioneer was not a low-end model.
