stupid question about speakers

okay, so i have this stereo in my kitchen:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8

it was new around christmas, and sounded great... a couple of months ago, tho, the sound started "popping". like, the sound disappears entirely for split-seconds at a time. at first i thought it was the quality of the cd i had burned, but then i found it does it with retail cds too (even unscratched) and it also does it when hooked into the wireless thingy that beams in my mp3s from my pc.

so what could it be? it hasn't been dropped or jiggled... (it's completely out of reach of the kids ) i checked the wires from the speaker, and all looks fine... even pulled out and reinserted the 4 wires just to make sure they were making good contact. sometimes it doesn't do it at all... then eventually it'll start, and it's so bad it's unlistenable.

i'm really pissed... having music in the kitchen is a quality-of-life issue, dammit! and the stereo was free, i don't want to pay money for a new one...

I'd call Philips at 1-888-744-5477. Tell them your problem and they might just have you send it back for replacement.

Throw it in your dishwasher and run it under Pots and Pans settings. Sometimes these things just need a good washing
