Here’s some juicy inside info for ya’ll.
The creater of Survivor, Mark Burnett, has a new show coming to USA Network. Eco-Challenge 2000. It’s like Survivor but it’s a race against time and other teams. The race is going take place this month but won’t air on USA Network until later this year. But I just found out that USANetwork.com is going to cover the entire race LIVE at it’s website beginning August 21st. Here’s the low-down I received via email: Eco-Challenge is a 7-12 day expedition adventure race, set to take place in Malaysian Borneo, which spans the course of a 24-hour day until all competing teams cross the finish line. Each team is comprised of 4 men and women, from across the globe, embarking upon 7 specific disciplines over an approximated 300 mile (500 km) course. A wide variety of features will be available on www.usanetwork.com to fans and thrill-seekers alike such as up-to-the-minute race statistics, vivid photos, streaming audio, profiles of the competitors and the terrain that they will encounter. Just one of the many highlights will include a GPS tracker detailing the location of four select teams on the course in a Flash-based application. An interactive site map will give users an aerial view of the overall course, as well as the ability to zoom in on specific legs of the race and the related disciplines at those points. Sounds pretty cool. Enjoy. More inside info on other TV shows and stations to come. |
