Question

im looking for a good deal on a new dreamcast system. i missed the sears (or was it jc penny, i forget) deal, and heard something about signing up to segas net service. i never got a full explination on that one.

anyway, any sort of deal on a new dreamcast system would be appreciated. if its a place, or a coupon, or a mail in rebate, let me know, please!

thanks for the help.

Just go to http://www.sega.net to read up on their rebate. Catch is, you have to sign up for their crappy isp to get the full 150 bucks back.

Go to your local Funcoland and grab a refurbished system for $135.

refurbished == new. The only difference is that like, the box was scratched and had to be re-boxed, etc, stuff like that. =)

Note of warning - refurbished systems can be anything that gets sent back to the manufacturer and is returned to "like New" condition. All that a refurb guarntees you is that the manufacturer thinks it is back to sellable condition. Companies such as Circuit City, Good Guys, and other major resellers often will use what is called an RTV protocol to return items to the manufacturer. When the manufacturer gets it they supposedly check it out and then repackage it for resale as a refurb or they just junk it. Refurbs are a great way to buy things but remember that the warranties are different if there at all and the problems may still be present. The majority of the time that you get a refurb there are no problems but I have encountered a few with mostly computer related products.
