Ladies and Gentlemen,
Does anyone have any information on the portable CD/MP3 players available all over the web for $89 or so. Are they any good? Are there better ones? How about cheaper? Thanks in advance, Super

There are better
Philips makes the expanium a 45 sec skip protection, yet it still has no ff rw or ID3 tags... it costs 200, here is a link to a mp/trip/genica page... Read up
I am waiting for a ID3 Tagged perfect player (Back Light and all) RCA appears to have the first... PineUSA.com may also have one.... http://students.washington.edu/mattyc9/genica.htm SEP |

For those of you interested in buying a portable MP3 player, check the Napa DAV309 out at:
http://www.jet-master.net/products.htm the very bottom of the page. This MP3 player supports MP3, VCD, and regular CDs. Plus, it features 10 sec. of anti-shock, a credit-card sized remote control, LCD display, and comes with AV cables and rechargeable lithium batteries. It's listed for $179 but you can have it for $139 shipped. Also search for it on eBay.com and get a bit more info. on it. |

also, memorex's mp3 cd player has just been seen at a few Target stores. it's got id3 tag support and is only 99 bucks, with a car kit. some people, however, have said they have had problems with the anti-skip, while others haven't.

I would highly recommend the DAV309. I bought one at www.computer123.com for $110 + s/h. No ID3 support, but will play VCDs, CD-RWs (a feature a number of the cheaper ones won't support) in addition to CD-R, Audio CDs. Great remote. I know some have had some problems with this player when using low quality CDs...However, I usually burn on the Kodak Gold Ultima (about $1.00/each). Crisp quality sound. My only reservation would be the short battery life (2 hours, rechargable NiCd I think...), though I may go to Batteries Plus and see if they have a more powerful replacement....
