I'm not so sure about yahoo (Checking pop3), but I know you can check other email accounts with it using pop3. If you can swing it faking a username, go to http://www.lanset.net and try to make an email account. Not too long ago they made it so you can create the email address on the web, but now you have to send a form. But I think the techs there are kinda stupid.. so you might sneak one in. Or you can telnet to teabbs.com (it's a free wildcat bbs) and sign up for an account (takes two minutes) then you can check your email via pop3 connection.

Yahoo offers free POP3 access. The catch is you have to put up with the occassional spam from one of their "featured sponsors." The server is sometimes slow, but hey, it's still POP3. NetZero allows POP3 access from any ISP as well and it has a very reliable and fast server. Definitely the way to go. You do have to d/l the NetZero client and register with them first, but after that you can dump it. |
