looking for cheap printer

hi everyone,
so i just need a cheapo printer to print black text for work. I preferbly want one where i dont have to replace the black ink all the time and one where i can find cheap ink cartridges online or in the store. any suggestions? i found a lexmark for $25 on newegg.com. is it worth it to spend just $25 though? thanks for any help.

GET A LASER!

Cost per page is WAY cheaper than inkjet. You can grab an HP 1020 for under $100 these days, and it'll print thousands of pages before you need to swap the cartridge. Look at Samsung or Brother for even cheaper ones.

Can you really get that many pages out of the laser starter cartridges or is there such a thing as a starter cartridge for lasers?

Depends on the printer. Some 'starter' cartridges will yeild as few as 1500 pages. But I once had an Epson laser that came standard with a high yeild cartridge (7500 pages). I used that bad boy for SIX YEARS before I replaced the cartridge. I kinda miss it now...

My color Dell came with enough to print 1000 color pages and I think at least a couple thousand in black and white. Be careful of cheap printers- the printer may be cheap, but you end up spending lots of money on ink. The cheapest seem to use the most ink and more costly ink. Part of your overall cost.

1020 cartridge for $40 yeilds 2000 pages - that's $0.02 per page.

Typical HP inkjet cartridge is about $20 for 400 pages - that's $0.05 per page. You'll pay $100 for the amount of ink that one toner cartridge can print - that's 250% more for ink than toner.

Seems pretty cheap to me.
