Question

i was wondering if anyone had a suggestion or two for a DSL/Cable router (atleast 2 ports). right now i'm thinking about the Linksys BEFSR41 4-Port Etherfast Cable/DSL Router from amazon for about $150. please send complaints to mscho@puc.edu

The linksys is great. It is a firewall, a DHCP server, and has 4 ports. It handles all the IP stuff, you just basiclly plug it in and go, I love it.

highly reccommended.

Too bad buy.com took down the $30 off $150 deal. I got one for $119 pricematched at Staples, plus linksys has a $20 rebate on their site.

I was a little disappointed with this model because if you want to use the firewall features, the DHCP must be disabled. Other than that, everything works great and it's easy to configure.

you sure about that? I thought with the NAT features, it didn't matter...I know I have blackICE behind it, and it doesn't go off anymore now that I use the linksys. And i do use DHCP.
