The lowest price I found is $483.00 includ. shipping. Could anyone beat that deal?

This is where I found it. $483, free ground shipping with no sales tax for shipping to California. You can find the $50 rebate in Sony's website. You have to purchase 16MB, 32MB or 64MB Sony memory stick with the digital camera (S30, S50 or S70). I really want this camera. However, my friend said it's still too expansive. Could you find a better deal, Apex? I'm counting on yah. ALSO THE 18 INCHES RIMS.

I'll look around. Honestly, the S series doesn't take too good quality pictures. If you have your heart set on a Sony, the choice is clear, the DSC-F505v. Much Much better pictures.

Retail for $1000. This is way off from my budget (no more than $500 for camera). I will use this digi-cam mostly to take pictures and use them on my home page or other forums. I can definitely go for something that is cheaper than Cybershot S50 but still 2.1 megapixel. How about Canon SureShot S10 or S100? Sorry I'm off topic here.

Pretty bad too. I took roughly 400 pictures with the S20. Not that great. Particularly bad on flesh tones and quality (skin for some reason tends to look pixelated. Landscape is ok).

How about the Nikon 950? Takes FAR better pictures than either the Canon or Sony. 2.1 Megapixels. Compact Flash media (best media right now). $498.95 shipped, no tax in California. $150 mail in rebate. Total cost is about $350. I have the Coolpix 990. These are NICE cameras.

"This camera failed within 90 days of purchase. It presented me with a "System Error" with the only remedy stated in the owner's manual "Call Your Dealer." I grossed to friends on the internet and was surprised to learn that they also had reliability problems with the 950 model. One person in England has suffered through 3 over-the-counter replacements in 6 months. Had I not been privy to this information, I might have opted for an over-the-counter replacement rather than a refund."

I found it on the review of http://www.pcphotoreview.com
Also I saw some people complain about its inaccurate focus. Nikon 950 has less rating then Sony Cybershot S50. For that amount of money, I'd rather buy Canon SureShot S10 or spend a little more on Sony Cybershot S50. Just my opinion.

Watch the deal on the Nikon.

I don't think they'll let you get the $150 back on a refurb.

I've actually owned this camera for about 6 months now. I haven't had a single problem with it whatsoever. Taken at least 1000 photos with it and am very impressed with the quality. I've purchased 2 more memory sticks and an extra battery so i'm invested in this bad boy. I might upgrade later on to a DSC-P1, but by then they'll have another one out i'll want even more. here's a good site for camera reviews and the like...also has some sample photos from this particular camera.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/s50.html

483-490 is the cheapest range i've seen on this one. be careful tho, two sites i saw this price had it as oem...was a display camera or something it seems.
