im planning to get a comp soon and need help on getting a good video card.......plz recommend a good video card.....im gonna use the comp to mostly play counter-strike (the famous half-life mod) im willing to spend like 150 so plz recomment some good video cardz

I guess you should take it to hardware section.

Anyhow, I'd recommend GeForce2 GTS, any brand. There were couple GeForce2's deals going in Got Deals? section.

Both the Radeon 32M DDR and the GeForce 2 32M DDR can be had for $120-$160 these days. For pure frame rates, go with the GeForce. For more features, better image quality, and DVD playback, go with the Radeon.

thankz nwarawa.....i've gone and bought the elsa gladiac geforce 2 gts 32m...from buy.com (pretty good deal) but now i need some advice on a motherboard..... http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showth...threadid=16180 (recommendationz for........motherboard) if you can give some advice on that i would appreciate it.....thnkz

yep i've decised to go wit amd t-bird gig......im thinkn of gettin asus...(thankz again To sbp) but i still need some more advice

If you want power on the cheap, get a Duron 650 for $45
If you want a bit more power, get a Thunderbird 700 for $86.
Either way, OVERCLOCK THE SNOT OUT OF 'EM! As for motherboard, get a motherboard with the KT133A chipset, so you can overclock with the FSB as well. The jury is still out on the best one, as they are just coming out.

If you need one NOW (ie NOT 133A, so stuck with 110fsb and lower), get the MSI K7T Ver. 2, for around $110.
