good sound card........

ok if you have a good recommendation for a sound card and a good price for it then plz post it... http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showth...threadid=16287 (Sound Cardz........) plz read my post on the hardware section be4 you give a recommendation.

-prefer one with digital input/ouput (for my minidisc)
-good sound for my mp3 playing
-good sound for my counter-strike playing
-will go well with my video card(elsa gladiac geforce2 gts 32m) and my motherboard(asus A7V)
-around......$150

Sound Blaster Live series. Cant beat it, I have a lot of mp3's and play counter-strike alot as well it is Great for both. You wont be disapointed. Check on pricewatch.com for lowest price.

The Live!'s are always a good bet. But there are two new bad ass cards out now. I'd personally go with the new Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. Good reviews and it has a nifty extar jack to put in for headphones or if you're crazy enough, hehe an extra set of speakers. there is also Philps' Acoustic Edge. Heard that card is very nice too. Been reading reviews saying its better than the Live! at least for gaming.

thnkz you guyz have been very helpful..(i bow to ur compute hardware excellence) but i lookz as though i am goin with the sound blaster live platinum 5.1......itz pretty cheap like 138.95 shipped and it has all the featurez i want...so thnk you all for ur input.......(i'll be gettin ma new comp soon)

ps. and itz gonna be a good one too (thnkz to you guyz)
