I'm interested in buying a digital video camera within the next month or so and so I've been trying to read up on them. I have a few questions I thought some of you might be able to help me with, and sorry if they sound stupid. Obviously, first of all, I'm looking for a good rec on what I should buy. I'm looking to spend, at most, about 700 dollars. I saw a couple specials on Amazon, but I wanted to run buy you all first. I'm interested in possibly creating my own music videos on my computer, and then burning it, either on CD or DVD (when i can buy a dvd burner). And i was wondering, for dig cams, if I can also put it into a regular VHS tape as well? And if so, if it would be convenient to do so (as in not too expensive to make tapes for friends and such). Anyways, any tidbit of info would be nice because I'm really serious about plunking down the money to buy this. I don't have much money so its a hefty investment for me. Thanks a lot

I have bought a Sony mini-dv camera, and have been happy with it. I would deffinatly look for firewire. It will be the easiest way to get your info off your camcorder and on to the pc for editing. I bought the firewire card in a sony combo pack that included, pci firewire card, two blank tapes, and editing software. It was a pretty good deal overall.
