Grand Opening for Lowes, is it worth waiting for?

There is a brand new Lowes being built near our house.

Does anyone know what their Grand Openings are like? Do they have special Discounts and Sales?

I am waiting to buy a standup Deep Freeze, should I wait?

thanks in advance!

Lowe's is virtually indistinguishable from Home Depot when comparing merchandise.

Home Depot taking over?

Near my house, Home Depot is so afraid of losing business to Lowes that they overbid on a piece of land that someone was going to sell to Lowes, and now Home Depot is building there. The pathetic thing about this is that there's another Home Depot less than 4 miles away that just opened about 3-4 months ago. I don't know how they're planning on keeping both of those stores running...

a Lowes just opened here too, and aside from a few good deals they weren't "giving" anything away. I always seem to have good luck at Sears when buying appliances, get them to match HD or Lowes and I do this during one of their 10% off sales.

I actually ended up getting my freezer open box at Best Buy. It had a dent in it, but since it was going in the garage I didn't care. Saved 40% because of a dent.
