Anyone know of any good places that are cheap to stay at in San Diego next weekend? Also looking for any local attraction (Sea World, Zoo, ect..) discounts available...

When I want to stay on the beach, I stay at the Surfer Lodge (4-1-1 can give you the number). I don't know why, because they are actually on the beach, this hotel is always 50% cheaper than the others on Mission Beach. One of these days they'll wise-up I'm sure, but that's suggestion one.

For cheap hotels in general, try the http://www.hoteldiscount.com/ site. They get you rates cheaper than most discounts even (for example I got rooms for my family last year that were cheaper than the AARP discount that my Mom & Dad could get. The old farts usually are discounted the most because they're the stingy-est with their cash: Our first house didn't cost that much! C'mon honey, let's just sleep in the car!

Be careful though, I set up a room for my relatives about a month ago but didn't personally go along when they checked in to make sure they got the rate that was quoted. I did even call *twice* to the hotel to confirm that they could get the rate. However, when they checked in they were ****ED! I got them a $59/night deal; they were charged $149/night however. Ouch!
