Sanyo 4700 or 6000 which is better? Sprint PCS good?
Im thinking about getting the Sanyo 4700 or the 6000, if I get Sprint. Just wondering if anyone can give me some personal experiences with either of those two phones. The major question is what everyone thinks of Sprint. I have heard good things, and bad things about them....whats the real story? I would appreciate your opinion.
Thanks |

Sorry, I can't comment on the phones but I can comment about what I've heard of Sprint (and why I'm going to sign up with them probably tomorrow or Saturday).
I know of three friends with Sprint...and they all have never had any problems or issues with Sprint. *MY* biggest selling point on Sprint is that I have little to no credit...and I've went to both Sprint and Cingular. Sprint wants me to pay a $150 deposit, and I only need to sign a 1 year contract. Cingular wants a $250 deposit, and a 2 year contract. Now, up until this point, I've just used a prepay Free2Go Motorola phone and I've paid the $25 for the cheapest phone card every month and a half. I don't have a *problem* with Free2Go service or anything, but I'd rather pay an extra $10 every month and get a couple thousand minutes instead of a meager 70 minutes. PLUS of course getting off prepay and onto a rate plan helps me build credit, which is another big plus for me personally. (Of course with the deposit, you DO get it back over time...I think they give you it all back over the first 6 months to your year maybe...I think Sprint said they pay it back in 6 months, I don't remember what Cingular said.) ... One of my Sprint buddies is selling me his old phone (one of the first models, the flipdown one with the big big screen and the net ready stick/control thingamajiggie) plus an extra battery for $60 which is a deal to me. Sprint won't charge much for activation, and I pay for the activation plus deposit on my first month's bill. I'm really looking forward especially to having a phone with a battery that actually LASTS. My Motorola V2397 Free2Go phone batteries SUCK. I can go from a full charge, then make a 10 minute call, and I'd be anywhere from almost half the battery charge being gone - if I talk for 20 minutes it's past half. That's pathetic. Another one of my Sprint buddies HAS the phone I'm getting and he said it usually lasts for a good 5 days in standby and that he's talked for 3 hours on it at one time and it still wasn't half empty. ![]() Last edited by zero2dash : 03-15-2002 at 02:15 AM. |

Thanks zero,
Tell me what you think, once you get it. Ask your friends what phones they have, and what they like and dont like....battery life, reception, etc. If you get the chance. Thanks |
