Whats a good Video Card costing $50-$100???

I'm looking into a "half-assed upgrade." I'll probably go balls out new comp when Doom 3 comes out. But until then, I'll need to see what I can do to my aging P3-450 machine. Anyway, what video card should I get? Its probably gonna be some hi-end Geforce 2 or low to mid range Geforce 3, OR, the really really low end Geforce 4

TNT2 baby! ahhhh yea!

yea i know my cpu is slow. i might end up getting a "temporary" new board and cpu as well. Maybe an ECS board with an Athlon XP 1600 chip.

I'm just debating whether its even worth it to do a slight upgrade now. If i were to invest in a brand spankin' new system today, would it be able to play future games such as Doom3 or the next Unreal?

i tired doing a halfass upgrade last summer. ended up with a new system. I ordered a t-bird 1.2 GHz & mobo, and a DVD drive. 2 weeks later I was ordering 512 MB more ram, and a Geforce 2 Pro. I found out that my TNT2 Ultra was a huge bottleneck (more than I thought it would be), so i wasnt happy.my small upgarde turned out to be fairly expensive.

I ould wait until you do an all out upgrade. Save the money and invest it into the new system.

Stay away from the geForce MX cards - they are the low end of nVidia's offering. Go for a Ti instead. The geForce 3Ti is a great choice.
