my girlfriend is thinking about buying a bag (gucci) from one of these discount designer places:
http://store.yahoo.com/chicave/ http://www.cross-fashion.com or some similar site she found at www.fashionbrokers.com. Just wondering if anyone has bought any high end designer stuff like this from a place that isn't one of the designers stores or one of their registered resellers? Im afraid that they are either going to sell unauthentic goods, or something will be wrong with it somehow. They all claim to be 100& authentic. They say something like this: Here in Cross-Fashion.com, we only offer first-quality and brand new merchandise. All of our items are 100% authentic, and include authenticity labels or card, dust bag and/or box. We do not claim to be an authorized dealer or agent of any of the designers' whose products are offered here. All references to Fendi®, Gucci®, JP Tods® and Prada® are for identification purposes only. Furthermore, they do not control, endorse or sponsor Cross-Fashion.com in any way, nor are they affiliated or associated with Cross-Fashion.com in any way. Fendi®, Gucci®, JP Tods®, and Prada® are the registered trademarks of their respective companies. CrossFashion.com is not an authorized retailer, dealer or agent of Fendi®, Gucci®, JP Tods®, and Prada®. but they have unfriendly return policies. Here's a quick example of one of their policies (they're pretty much the same): Return/Exchange Policy Please email us to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number prior to returning any merchandise. And, include a copy of this RMA number with the package in order for us to expedite a refund or exchange. Regardless of the nature of claim, all items must be returned within seven (7) days from the shipping carrier's original delivery confirmation date. In order to avoid delays processing your refund, please include your name, address, email address, the method of payment, along with the price you paid for the item. All returned and exchanged items must arrive undamaged and in the same condition as shipped by our company and all tags, authenticity cards, sleeper bags, security and protector tapes must be intact and must not have been removed. Regardless of nature of claim, the item must be unused and completely free of any blemishes or any other signs of use of any kind. A refund to your credit card or a store credit (your choice) for the returned merchandise (less original shipping and handling costs) will be issued via email within ten days of receipt of the item(s). There is a $4.95 handling fee and 15% restocking fee for returns and exchanges. We do not cover the cost of shipping for returns or exchanges, only the cost of the item less the restocking fee. Exchanges are a accepted as a one-time courtesy. Make sure to insure your package -- and please send your return via a shipping company (preferably UPS) who provides tracking and proof of delivery. One site has an authenticity garuntee, they say that if you bring it to one of the designers stores and they tell you its a fake you get all expenses refunded, but they're based in singapore, while these are based stateside. Just seeing if anyone had experience with this and wanted to see what people think of buying from here. |

Yeah. . . I would advoid those places like the plague. You'd be better off going town to TJ and buying stuff there. If you want the real thing, buy it from a certified or actual retailer.

Yeah, I wouldn't buy anything designer online. There's waaayy too many fakes out there.
Go to Loehmann's. They have lots of designers at outlet prices. I got a pair of Gucci sunglasses for $60 and there's no question that the brand is real. ![]() |
