looking for deals on digicam - canon / nikon
hello,
I'm looking for a new digicam can anyone suggest me or find a good deal? i'd like to stay either canon or nikon brand. I'm not a specialist or anything, just for friends, family.. casual shooting.... (sounds strange, but it's not like i'm shooting at them  anyways, please..

http://www.buydig.com generally has great prices, and they have a good reputation as well (but a pretty shoddy looking site, IMHO).

I'm quite partial to nikons . . . so I'd recommend the coolpix 4300, but it might be a little over your 400 limit. So the 885 is the model below it which is pretty much the same camera just 1MP lower (3MP vs 4MP). I really like that body style since its still very small but has a nice grip on it. You might also want to take a look at minoltas or olympus cameras too. I find the Olympus have actually very good picture quality.
