I have Blue that give you 1% back on everything. However looking at the deal on the deals page I see they offer up to 5%. Well I don't carry a balance so I don't get the full 5%. However all other purchases are up to 1.5% or 3%. My roadblock here is the wording of up to . I know Discover has this same wording and to qualify for the full 1.5% or 3% you have to spend like over 500 or 1000 a month or something.
Does anyone know how to get the full 1.5% or 3% back and if it's tiered by the amount of money you charge per month?

Re: American Express: Blue or Blue Cash
My $.02:
I've had a blue for some time (the clear one) but I faithfully pay off my credit line every month. Otherwise, it's mathematically not all that great, and you might use that extra few percentage points as an excuse to become credit-lazy.

From the pictures, both Blue and Blue Cash are clear. The latter has Blue Cash printed on the card. Well half a percent or possibly triple one percent adds up. Every little cents counts.

Well, I have the cash rebate card (the green one) and it claims the 5% also. I've used it for like 6 months so far and here's my "rebate"
Qual. Spend thru APR-2003 statement 3,587.72 Cash Reward thru APR-2003 statement 22.97 SO I have no idea how they make those calculations then. I for sure thought I was going to get at least 1.5% on all purchases...at least that's what I thought they said ![]() |
