car rental
Can any seasoned traveller share tips to get a good rate on car rentals (2-3 weeks). I've tried using the credit card "benefits" but their discount programs are not that attractive.

update on the best i've found
20% off code from Budget.com from the Entertainment book. This book just paid for itself- saved fifty bucks on a 3 week rental ($19/day, all taxes included).
coupon code: X443008 - this is just for you to test it out and see for yourself, you'll need to present a physical coupon at rental time. |

If you're a member of a wholesale club (Costco, BJ's) that offers vacation packages, check their vacation deal magazines. They usually have coupons/deals for rental cars. The one I have from BJ's has either 20% off, 1 free weekend day, or free upgrade to mid-size/sport, depending on which company you go with. And all the companies are the big names, too (Hertz, Budget, Avis, etc) |
