Herman Miller Aeron Chair

Does anyone know of any good places to buy the Herman Miller Aeron chair at a good price? Or do you have any good alternative chairs that you'd recommend? I've looked at all the local retail stores (ie Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, etc) but haven't seen anything that fits the bill so far. Thanks.

Best bet for an Aeron is a used one through e-bay or a furniture reseller. Expect to pay about $500-700 for a used chair, depending on the options.

You might also look at Herman Miller's cheaper alternative, the Mirra. You'll pay about the same for a new Mirra as a used Aeron, and they're very comparable chairs.

Review of the Mirra

Aeron vs. Mirra

Woohoo! Just got back from an office furniture liquidator nearby & they had a brand new Herman Miller Aeron chair (carbon color, size c which was really hard to find locally, with all the bells & whistles) for $635 after tax. After several months my quest is finally over and I am now a proud owner of an Aeron (or am I just an idiot for spending that much on a stupid chair?)...

Sounds mighty sweet ta me. Just what I've been looking for.
http://www.hermanmiller4less.com/aeronchair.html Around $850 new.
I've seen returned ones for $100 less.
I'm going to have to traipse downtown and look over some storefronts.
I've seen a couple of operators on eBay, but the feedback(s) keep me wary. Dragging around a chair, for warranty or a bogus buy, nahhhh.
You only live once, what the hell.

I was able to find mine via Craigslist. Sometimes the liquidators post there so good luck!

Thanks!
On a similar note, I need to get a little tighter with local computer users too.
