Wireless desktop?

I currently have a desktop and want to avail myself of wireless internet. I know when you have a laptob you just get a wireless card, but if you have a desktop, what do you do?

Just get a wireless card. They make them for desktops as well.

You want your destop wireless? I bought a USB wireless network doodad. NETGEAR MA111 is the USB thing and I have the NETGEAR M814 wireless router. Works find for me. No ethernet cable to the router. I like the USB because if I do get a laptop I can use it also. You can also get a PCI wireless card and stick it in your desktop.

I'm using a wireless PCI card in my XPC and it works just fine. I have a Linksys router and a D-Link wireless PCI card. I've seen the PCI cards for as cheap as $15 after rebates.

Yup... wireless cards come in both the PCI and USB flavors. If you want to be "flexible" as in moving the PC around connecting back to the wired network, then I'd suggest going with a USB... Also, you can elevate most USB adapters to work over the "interference" that you sometimes get at ground/desk level... and get a better signal.

I did put a normal PCI wireless card in my HTPC though... however I NEVER move it from its spot downstairs.

Am I missing a joke here or something? I don't see how tacos relate to 802.11x networks.

I use a Netgear MA101, but it's not the most reliable thing in the world. But yeah it plugs into the USB, connects to a wireless router just like a laptop w/ wireless card does.
