Best Digi-camcorder under $400
What are your opinions for the best digital camcorder under $400?
and where is the best deal? I am looking for a camera for your typical amatuer would like for filming kids and crap. Thanks for any input or help Finsfan |

My only recommendation (because your selection is limited at that price level) is to make sure you go with a miniDV, as opposed to Digital8. If you don't mind a loud camcorder, Canon might have a camera in the range you're looking for. If camcorders would stop throwing on ridiculous low-quality digital still abilities, you'd probably find them cheaper.
Edit: I should point out that I made the MiniDV recommendation because I had my degree in video production and both at school and at jobs I had, it was near-unanimously preferred.
