yah, i just ordered this HD from buy.com with the 30 dollar coupon off from what...177 or something? And after tax, and shipping it came out to 167 and change. Is that a good deal? Or should i cancel the order and buy a better one. I believe IBM is one of the best HD brands to buy.

I've got the drive right now and it's awesome! Super duper fast. For $167 it's very worth it. I'm even considering getting another

Ya, get another one. Then, get a Promise Ultra 66 card, mod it, then put your 2 drives to gether on RAID 0 and you got your self some extremely fast 60GB of harddrive space.

Aren't the IBM 30 gig Hard Drives going on IDE/100's?

If your asking about these IBM 75GXP hard drives being ATA/100 compatible then yes they are MaStAYoDA1. There's not much difference between the performance gotten with ATA/100 versus ATA/66.

This deal is not so hot. My buddies and I have recently bought maxtor and western digital 7200/udma66 hard drives for 180 shipped. I would consider sending it back and buying twice the capacity for a few bucks more.
