Is Dell the only place to get Dell ink and toner ?
I'm thinking about picking up the Color Laser Printer 3000cn.
The replacement toner(s) is pricey. I know it is for most laser but ...

Most of the dell printers are rebranded lexmark crap... so I think you have to find what lexmark ink it uses...

Be careful though...last I checked when I worked at OfficeMax a year back, Dell DOES use Lexmark technology....but Lexmark ink carts won't fit in the machine....they had an extra bump on the top that the Dell ink carts didn't have that wouldn't let it fit into the machine... I don't know if they have changed this by now though....(why would they? ruin a chance to make all their ink proprietary to them?!?!) |

Lexmark cartridges will fit if you force them or file down the bump. Though the programming on the chip will tell the printer "incompatible cart", and that is exactly the error you will get on your printer. Dell carts only.

Thanks for the double check, I thought that was still the case. |
