Need broken Xbox for parts

If anybody has a broken Xbox, I am looking for one. All I really need is the DVD drive. Mine is the Philips, so matching that would be best. I can get one online, but it will cost me $89 so... let me know if you have one for less!

ebay has a lot of the ones they sell for like 50, but aren't guaranteed in working condition if that's what you want

On second thought...

It turns out that any of the Xbox DVD Drives will work, I do not have to match another Philips so I managed to find a new OEM Xbox DVD Drive (I think the Thompson one) for $49. That looks like a safe bet.

Thanks anyway!

NOOOO!!! don't get the Thompson drive!!! at least get the Philips or the Samsung (at least i think its a Samsung...)

get the drive that has the two holes in the drive tray. the read times are faster, and it won't crap out like a lot of the older Thompson drives do.

Hey, good call. Thanks for the tip. I was thinking Thompson due to cost since the Samsung is twice the cost.

Hmmm... I should do a bit of research now...
