What all do you want your printer to do?
Standard documents... Photo printing... Color printing... You might want to be a lil more specific in order to get really good suggestions. BTW... be careful of buying a "cheap" printer because it is cheap... Companies make money on the INK rather than the hardware, and many of the cheap ones use ink like crazy and the replacements inks are quite expensive. Personally, I trust HP printers for my Day to day printing and Epsons for my photo printing.

I had an Epson All In One which was great- until the ink jets eventually clogged and were impossible to clean. I only used their inks so you cannot blame that on second party inks. During my search for a printer at that time, I ignored warnings that they tend to do that after about two years- which is just about how long mine lasted. The quality was great and the inks do not fade like many others can. I cannot say about a photo printer. Some printers include a new print head as part of the cartridge so you replace it when you replace the ink- that helps minimize the problem. I have my pictures printed at the local drugstore- it was cheaper than using the AIO. I now have a color laser printer I got on deal from Dell. Around $350 at the time- if they still run deals like that.

sorry i was so vague.
I'm a college student looking for a pretty standard printer that only needs to print in black and white. I wouldn't mind the option to print in color, but I'm more worried about your day to day printing needs and papers for school. The cheaper the better, but good point about the ink, I don't want to get killed on that with a cheap printer. Thanks |

Ever thought of a cheap laser printer? There have been deals here for under $200
For day to day printing though.. you can never really go wrong with HP printers. They are the "jacks of all trades". I personally have a HP 1200D ... which as worked great for me and is very nice on ink usage. |
